This 1987 Hartge H26 is based on a BMW 325i and was delivered new to Canada. It is powered by a Hartge-tuned 2.5-liter M20 inline-six and features a Hartge rear wing, lower bodywork, valve cover, silver 16″ 11-spoke alloy wheels, and exhaust system. The car was acquired by the seller in 2004 and was repainted in its factory shade of Cinnabar Red in 2019. Equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission, front sport seats, a sunroof, body-color mirrors, cruise control, an Alpine CD stereo, an onboard computer, and a limited-slip differential. This H26 is now offered in Canada with a tool kit and British Columbia registration in the seller’s name.
Finished from the factory in Cinnabar Red, the car features Hartge styling elements including unique lower bodywork, a front valance, rear wing, oval exhaust tip, rocker panels, side stripe graphics, and badging. The seller notes that it was repainted in the same factory shade in 2019, and headlights sourced from Garagistic were installed in 2023. The Carfax report notes a damage claim in June 2001, though further details are not available.
Hartge silver 11-spoke 16″ wheels wear matching center caps and are mounted with 205/55 Michelin MXV4 Plus tires. Braking is handled by ventilated front and solid rear discs with ABS. An Ireland Engineering strut tower brace has been added. Blemishes on the wheels are viewable in the gallery.
The cabin features front sport seats upholstered in black leather along with matching door panel inserts. Amenities include a factory tool kit, an Alpine CD stereo, an onboard computer, cruise control, power windows, and a Hartge-branded gearshift knob. Air conditioning components were removed under previous ownership.
The three-spoke M-Tech I steering wheel frames a 240-km/h speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer alongside gauges for coolant temperature, instant fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer is inoperative and shows 214k kilometers (~133k miles), approximately 60k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 2.5-liter M20B25 inline-six was modified by Hartge with a re-programmed ECU and equipped with Hartge-specific performance components including a hotter camshaft and a finned valve cover along with a revised exhaust manifold and full exhaust system. A 2″ Ireland Engineering strut tower brace has been installed. Compression test results from 2020 are viewable in the gallery.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The number listed on the Hartge Motorsport tag corresponds with the last six digits of the BMW chassis number.
