This 1987 Toyota 4×4 (VIN JT4RN63S2H0114425) is a top-tier SR5 example with great colors and options, including the preferable four-cylinder/5-speed manual combo. The selling dealer reportedly acquired the truck from its second owner, and though it’s been partially refurbished at some point with new paint (in the factory color) and OEM decals, photos show what looks like a very well-kept survivor inside and out. Mileage is given as 181k, though the 22RE is probably among the toughest, longest-lived engines ever mass produced. Find it here on Craigslist in Redmond, Washington for $18,900.

Refurb reportedly included installation of a new grille, front end lighting, and new front and rear bumpers. A fresh coat of Silver Metallic (code 147) paint was also laid down and a new set of SR5 decals and graphics were added along with a set of fog lamps.

The front suspension consists of an independent torsion bar setup while the live rear axle is suspended by leaf springs. The ad notes newer Rancho shocks, while alloy wheels look very sharp powder coated in dark gray and shod in perfectly-sized Wild Country all-terrain rubber. A 3,500-pound tow hitch and a bed lined in non-skid material increase usability.

These interiors are simple and robust, but this one looks to be holding up especially well. Seats appear to be from a Tacoma, the inclinometer/altimeter pack appears to be an OEM 4Runner item, and the Kenwood CD deck with USB input and new speakers are nice upgrades.

The 22RE four was good for 93 horsepower and 138 lb. ft. of torque when new, and it works through a standard 5-speed manual transmission (a 4-speed auto was optional) and 2-speed selectable transfer case. Like the rest of the truck, cosmetic condition here looks uncommonly good–the seller also makes note of a recent fluid/belt change along with a new alternator and battery.
